Baron Corbin def. No Way Jose

Baron Corbin losing out on a Money in the Bank return may well end up being the worst thing that happened to No Way Jose: With Bobby Roode nowhere to be found, The Lone Wolf instead set his sights on the third Superstar from last week’s ill-fated qualifier, taking out his frustration in excessive fashion on The Dominican Dancing Machine. It didn’t help that Jose continues prioritize having fun, which brought out Corbin’s inner killjoy on top of everything else.

Jose did not go quietly, building nicely on the aggression he displayed last week with a strong opening flurry and an impressive rally down the stretch after Corbin had done some damage. But Corbin would not be denied, thwarting Jose’s wind-up punch and earning the win with a one-two combo of the Deep Six and End of Days.

Renee Young is in the back with Titus O’Neil as he slides into the camera shot.  Renee shows Titus the slide heard round the world.
Renee asks Titus how is he dealing with the spotlight.  Titus says it was exactly as he planned.  Not many people have the opportunity to fall flat on their face in front of the world.  You don’t stay down.  You get back up.  Titus says he hopes this situation will inspire people.
Baron Corbin stops by and says that Renee is wasting her time with him.

We are back and Baron Corbin comes out and he says to make money you don’t have to be funny.  Baron responds to the crowd’s chants.  Titus O’Neil has made a career being the fool.  His opponent tonight cares about his conga line.  Baron says this nonsense makes him want to puke.  He came here to win titles and make money.  Tonight he puts an end to the nonsense.  After he is done, no one will be laughing.

Match Number Five:  No Way Jose versus Baron Corbin
Jose with punches but Corbin with an Irish whip.  Corbin slides around the ring post and hits a clothesline.  Jose with punches but Corbin with a punch to stagger Jose.  Corbin goes over the top rope when Jose ducks down.  Jose with a punch from the apron and he goes up top and misses a cross body.  Jose is sent shoulder first into the ring post.
Titus O’Neil’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring . . . cautiously along with Apollo Crews and Dana Brooke.  They stop Titus from running to the ring and Apollo wipes down the bottom of the ramp.  Titus walks gingerly and gets to ringside.  Titus gets on the apron and he slips on the apron and falls to the floor.
Baron applauds Titus and Jose with a rollup for the three count.

Winner:  No Way Jose

We have a video for Baron Corbin and he is next.

We are back and No Way Jose makes his way to the ring.

Baron says that he sees Jose’s plan. This conga line is a way for five or six of your guys to attack him while he grinds Jose into a spot on the mat. Baron says he is here to ruin fun. He is a former champion and he will be a champion again. He says Jose is not on Baron’s level. As long as you are with that group of freaks, he says no way Jose.

Jose takes a mic and he says because Baron doesn’t want them to have fun, it doesn’t mean that the party has to stop. He wants his music and the conga

Jose poses on the stage after his conga line goes to the back. Corbin hits Jose from behind and then kicks him. Corbin sends Jose into the matrix board and kicks Jose in the head. Corbin with a chokebreaker.

Angle is about to announce the 5 best men’s Superstars for the match at Survivor Series but Shane McMahon’s music interrupts and out comes the SmackDown Commissioner. Shane appears in the crowd with The New Day, Becky Lynch, WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Mojo Rawley, Shinsuke Nakamura, Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin, SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya, Carmella, Bobby Roode, Tamina Snuka, Tye Dillinger, Rusev, AJ Styles and maybe just a few other blue brand Superstars.

Shane enters the ring with Kurt as the blue brand Superstars surround the ring. Shane stares at Angle. Shane simply says: under siege. Angle drops the mic and backs away, leaving the ring. Angle heads to the back and looks worried. Shane orders the blue team to “go get ’em” and they head up the ramp. Angle hurries to the back.

We see the SmackDown Superstars enter the backstage area. They see Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews first. Xavier Woods taunts them before the group beats them down. They move on and come up on an intern next. Corbin takes him out. Roode and Dillinger destroy a TV screen with the RAW logo on it. They keep walking, taking out Goldust, Curtis Axel and Curt Hawkins next. They enter the RAW locker room next, taking out Matt Hardy, Jason Jordan and another Superstar. They enter another part of the locker room and attack several other RAW Superstars. They face the women next. Natalya, Becky, Tamina and Carmella attack Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James and Alicia Fox. We see Shane nodding in approval back in the ring. Some fans boo.

The group keeps walking but they’re attacked by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The numbers catch up and the RAW Tag Team Champions are also beat down. Rusev and Corbin hold Kurt Angle, making him look at Rollins and Ambrose down on the ground. The blue brand mob brings Angle back to the arena now. Shane watches from the ring as the SmackDown stars stand on the stage with Angle. Shane waves them down to the ring. Corbin and Rusev bring Angle into the ring while the others stand on the outside. Angle and Shane stare each other down. Shane says he wants Angle to bring his gold medal, what’s left of the RAW roster because they’re going to finish what they started. It’s true, it’s damn true. The SmackDown roster beats on the apron to taunt Angle. Shane’s music hits as he leaves with the rest of the blue brand Superstars. An embarrassed & angry Angle looks on from the ring as SmackDown leaves through the crowd. RAW goes off the air with Angle frozen.

Baron Corbin def. Sin Cara

The masked marvel takes flight against The Lone Wolf.

Among the more under-the-radar nuggets of the WWE Brand Extension Draft: The Lucha Dragons are eligible as individual competitors and have indeed decided to go their separate ways. Although their potential last Raw as a duo may have included a loss for Sin Cara, they at least got the chance to showcase their unity one last time. It’s a shame it didn’t turn out better. Sin Cara had just fallen to Baron Corbin in relatively quick fashion, but when The Lone Wolf attempted to further punish The International Sensation, Kalisto came Sin Cara’s rescue. The final stand of The Lucha Dragons, however, was cut short when Corbin axe-handled Kalisto in the back of the head, splaying The King of Flight all over the outside.

Darren Young won a Battle Royal to become No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship
DETROIT — Getting yelled at by Bob Backlund for two months might be a better training plan than we all thought. The WWE Hall of Famer’s quest to “Make Darren Young Great Again” got off to a smashing start when Mr. No Days Off, in his first bout under Mr. Backlund’s tutelage, won a Battle Royal to become next man up for…
Like all great victories, it was equal parts perseverance, skill and luck. The perseverance and skill came by outlasting the majority of WWE’s tag team competitors to make the final four alongside Dolph Ziggler, Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin. And the luck came when Crews and Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner Corbin simultaneously tossed each other in the closing seconds, leaving Young the winner and causing an overjoyed Backlund to celebrate with him in the ring. This. Is. Happening.

Baron Corbin def. Zack Ryder

“Zack Daddy” tests his mettle against The Lone Wolf.

Having finally moved past Dolph Ziggler at Money in the Bank, Baron Corbin set his sights on the only possible target: The Showoff’s broski. Zack Ryder was the next unfortunate soul added to The Lone Wolf’s boneyard on Raw, despite what is becoming a signature show of heart by the former Intercontinental Champion. Corbin suffered a Broski Boot, dropkick and El-Bro Drop, but the effort of Ryder’s offense left him too banged up to close the match out. The Lone Wolf caught Ryder with a punch to the face mid-springboard and quickly followed up with the End of Days.

Baron Corbin def. Dolph Ziggler via Disqualification

Turnabout is fair play when it comes to The Showoff and The Lone Wolf.

As you may know, Dolph Ziggler was a record-setting collegiate wrestler at his alma mater, Kent State University. So it would make sense that The Showoff would challenge his rival Baron Corbin to a technical wrestling match after The Lone Wolf low-blowed him at Extreme Rules — what better way to humiliate Corbin than by luring him onto Dolph’s own turf? Well, turns out the whole technical-wrestling challenge was little more than a bait-and-switch for Ziggler to kick Corbin square in the groin, Charlie-Brown style, the second the bell rang. Needless to say, that’s hardly scientific, not to mention a DQ under any set of rules. But it ain’t like Corbin’s going to be enjoying his victory all that much anyway. Go Golden Flashes!
