Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring.

The crowd is happy to see Daniel in his home state.

Daniel says it is good to be home. He says last time they were here, he was forced to make the most difficult announcement of his life. The last year has not been easy. He wants to talk about being grateful. He is grateful that he has had the opportunity to be the General Manager of Smackdown. He is grateful that he is able to come to Seattle and give the fans the best show possible. Daniel says he is grateful that soon he is going to be a dad.

Miz’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring with Maryse.

Miz says a deliberate boo hoo. Miz says that Daniel Bryan had to retire a year ago in his best Droopy Dog impression. Miz tells Daniel to become a stay at home dad. Miz says he does not know why Daniel is here. He cannot wrestle any more. Miz says he does not know why Daniel is even in a WWE ring.

Daniel says not being able to wrestle never stopped you from getting in the ring.

Miz says Daniel does not respect him. Miz says Daniel cannot wrestle any more but he can. At Elimination Chamber . . . Miz gets flustered at the crowd and Daniel tries to get them to be louder than Miz.

Miz asks Daniel if this is funny.

Baron Corbin’s music plays and he comes to the ring.

Baron tells Miz he should really learn when to shut up. You talked too much last week on commentary and you are talking too much now.

Miz says when he speaks, people listen. He says they can work together and dominate. They can eliminate everyone and then at the end, let the best man win.

Baron says he can take Miz out now so he does not have to hear Miz’ mouth when he wins the WWE Title.

Miz wants to know if Daniel is going to let Baron talk to him like that.

Daniel half heartedly tells Baron not to punch Miz in the face because that would be terrible.

Dean Ambrose comes to the ring.

Dean says they look so cute together. Dean says he cannot take anything Miz says seriously when he is wearing that. Dean says that Baron is big and bad and he stole Dean’s motorcyle music. Dean says we will make some bad decisions in the Elimination Chamber. He says he will walk out of the Elimination Chamber as Intercontinental and WWE Champion. Dean says if you aren’t careful, you might not walk out of the chamber.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

AJ wants to know if everyone is done playing tickle butt. Do the facts not matter? Miz has a brain, Corbin is going to win on Sunday? AJ says he has beaten everyone in the ring so he does not care about Miz’ scheme. He does not care that Baron is seven feet tall. AJ tells the crowd to stop cheering for him. AJ says all he cares about is being the WWE Champion and he will get his title back at the Elimination Chamber.

Miz says AJ will not get his title back. People come to Smackdown to see him.

Daniel calms everyone down. He says everyone thinks they are going to win the Elimination Chamber. Why not give the WWE Universe a little preview. Why not have a Fatal Four Way Match? Daniel says that match starts right now.

Match Number One: AJ Styles versus Baron Corbin versus Dean Ambrose versus Miz

All four men start off in the ring and Miz talks alliance with Corbin and Baron does not care. Styles kicks Corbin but Corbin blocks a kick and sends Styles to the floor. Corbin misses a clothesline but he catches Dean on a cross body attempt. Dean sends Corbin over the top rope to the floor. Ambrose with a forearm to Miz followed by punches and a clothesline to send him over the top rope to the floor.

Styles goes for a Styles Clash but Ambrose blocks it and Miz tries to pull Styles to the floor but it does not work. Ambrose knocks Styles off the ropes on a springboard move. Corbin sends Ambrose into the steps and then Corbin punches Miz. Corbin with a punch to Miz in the corner but Styles goes for a springboard move again and Corbin wtih a punch. Corbin with a splash to Miz and Ambrose with a forearm to Corbin. Corbin misses a shoulder in the corner and goes into the post. Miz with a DDT and he gets a near fall on Styles.

Miz tries for the Yes chant and then he does the Kicks of Yes to Styles and Ambrose. Miz misses a round kick and Ambrose with a rollup. Ambrose, Styles, and Miz go for rollups but no one can get the three count. Miz and Styles with clotheslines and they go down. Ambrose with a rollup on Corbin for a near fall. Corbin and Ambrose bump heads and they go down as we go to commercial.

We are back and Miz crotches Ambrose on the turnbuckles right before we came back. Styles climbs to join Miz for a double superplex but we get Corbin to turn it into a Tower of Doom and Corbin gets a near fall on Miz. Corbin gets a near fall on Styles. Corbin throws Ambrose to the floor and then he misses a charge into the corner when Miz moves. Miz with kicks in the corner. Miz with a running drop kick to Styles in the corner but Corbin counters Miz’ attempt on him with Deep Six for a near fall. Corbin is sent into the corner but he slides to the floor but he misses a clothesline. Styles with a Pele Kick and then he hits a flying forearm for a near fall. Styles sets for the Styles Clash on Miz but Miz counters and hits the flying knee and gets a near fall.

Ambrose with forearms to Miz followed by a clothesline. Ambrose with a swinging neck breaker on Styles. Ambrose with a forearm to Miz and then he hits a bulldog on Miz while hitting a clothesline on Styles. Ambrose with a suicide dive on Corbin. Styles misses a pescado and Ambrose sends Styles into the ringside barrier. Dean drops Miz on the ringside barrier and then he sends Corbin into the ring post and then he goes up and hits an elbow drop but Styles breaks up the cover.

Ambrose with a kick and Dean bounces off the ropes on his own but Styles moves and hits a springboard moonsault into a reverse DDT. Miz breaks up the cover. Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale but Styles with an arm drag. Styles with a forearm and he setps for the Phenomenal Forearm but Maryse pulls Miz to the floor. Corbin with End of Days to Styles for the three count.

Come Sunday, Feb. 12, WWE Champion John Cena will be in for a daunting task: Defending SmackDown LIVE’s top crown inside the most savage creation WWE has ever seen, the Elimination Chamber.

Fresh off winning his record-tying 16th World Title, The Champ will compete against the Superstar he defeated for the championship at Royal Rumble, AJ Styles, plus Bray Wyatt, Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin and The Miz, live on WWE Network. SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon announced the star-studded lineup on the Jan. 31 edition of SmackDown LIVE.

The infamous Elimination Chamber, with its chain-link walls, glass pods and steel floors, is diabolical to the core, and the rules for the war zone are as twisted as the structure itself.

Two Superstars will start the bout while the remaining four are enclosed in pods. After a regularly scheduled period of time, a pod will open at random, enabling a Superstar to enter the match. This will continue until all six competitors have been released. A Superstar can be eliminated at any time, via pinfall or submission only, and the last man standing will be declared the winner and WWE Champion.

Each challenger is hungry and uniquely qualified to take down The Cenation Leader. Styles wants to reassert himself as “The Champ That Runs the Camp,” and The Lunatic Fringe, who lost the WWE Title to Styles in September, looks to add another championship to his mantel. The Miz insists on being treated as an A-Lister, and winning Team Blue’s top title would support his claim, while a win for Bray Wyatt could strengthen The Wyatt Family’s grip on SmackDown LIVE, given Randy Orton’s eventual title opportunity at WrestleMania. Not to be overlooked is the unbridled brutality of the match’s least experienced, but perhaps most dangerous warrior, The Lone Wolf, who might just feel right at home inside the Chamber.

Which Superstar will navigate the perilous Elimination Chamber Match and emerge victorious? Don’t miss out when SmackDown LIVE presents its next brand-exclusive pay-per-view, WWE Elimination Chamber, live on the award-winning WWE Network Sunday, Feb. 12, at 8 ET/5 PT.

Back from the break and Corbin has joined commentary. AJ works over Ambrose in the ring and hits a backbreaker. Corbin and Miz argue on commentary as AJ keeps control.

Ambrose goes for a superplex but AJ slides out and drops Ambrose into the turnbuckle face first. More back and forth. Ambrose rolls Styles up for a 2 count. AJ with a kick.. Ambrose dumps AJ to the apron. AJ goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Ambrose knocks him to the floor. Ambrose runs the ropes for a dive but AJ nails a forearm. AJ goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Ambrose catches him coming in. They block signature moves but Ambrose slams AJ on his back for a close 2 count.
AJ comes off the second rope but Ambrose catches him in mid-air. AJ turns that into a 2 count. AJ drops Ambrose over his knee and covers for another 2 count. AJ ends up going for the Styles Clash but it’s blocked. They trade pin attempts. AJ connects with the pele kick but Ambrose comes back with the Lunatic Lariat and they both go down. AJ ends up on the floor again. Ambrose goes to the top and nails the top rope elbow to the floor. Miz tries to come in but Corbin stops him. This distracts the referee while Ambrose is covering for the pin. Ambrose comes over and takes out both Corbin and Miz. Ambrose goes back to AJ but Styles catches him in the Styles Clash for the non-title win.
Winner: AJ Styles
– After the match, AJ quickly has his hand raised before leaving the ring. Miz enters the ring and picks Ambrose up for a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz drops Ambrose on his face and stands tall. Corbin grabs Miz from behind and hits End of Days. Corbin drops Ambrose with End of Days next. Corbin’s music hits as he stands tall over Ambrose. SmackDown goes off the air with Corbin staring Styles down.

Royal Rumble Match

Baron Corbin is #13. Corbin joins the alliance against Strowman, but Strowman suddenly eliminates Dillinger. Zayn hits Strowman with the Helluva Kick, and Corbin follows up with a clothesline over the top for the elimination. It’s now Zayn, Ambrose, and Corbin in the ring, and I think Jericho is still legal somewhere on the outside as well. Kofi Kingston is #14. Kingston drop kicks Zayn and goes for an elimination, but Corbin attacks them both from behind. Ambrose drives his shoulder into Corbin’s gut in the corner, but Corbin regains control and tries to eliminate Ambrose. The Miz is #15. Kingston gets launches at the ring post but hangs on and pulls himself back in. Sheamus is #16. Sheamus levels Miz, Corbin, and Ambrose in rapid succession. Miz eats White Noise and Zayn gets a scoop slam. Sheamus pounds on Miz and Brogue Kicks Jericho. Corbin and Ambrose try to dump Sheamus, but Sheamus rolls back into the ring. Big E is #17. Big E spanks Miz, and yes, that’s something I hoped I’d never have to type. Kingston and Big E go after Miz as Ambrose and Zayn trade elimination attempts. Rusev is #18. Rusev splashes everyone standing and levels Sheamus with a spin kick. Rusev tries to dump Zayn, but Zayn lands on the apron and scrambles back into the ring. Rusev goes after Ambrose as Kingston and Big E double team Corbin. Cesaro is #19. Cesaro hits Jericho with a spinebuster and then swings Jericho followed by Zayn followed by Ambrose followed by Kingston followed by Big E. Corbin gets swung and Sheamus tries to beg off, but Rusev saves Sheamus with a super kick. Xavier Woods is #20, and now all three members of New Day are in the match. New Day triple team Miz but can’t manage to eliminate him. Bray Wyatt is #21. Wyatt side slams Jericho and connects with a back elbow shot to Zayn. Wyatt faces off with Woods and levels him with a clothesline. Woods and Kingston end up on the apron, and Cesaro and Sheamus try to eliminate them. Apollo Crews is #22. Big E pulls Woods and Kingston back into the ring, but Cesaro and Sheamus hit a 2-on-3 clothesline to eliminate all three members of New Day. Cesaro and Sheamus have thoughts of eliminating each other, but Jericho sneaks up behind them and eliminates them both. Randy Orton is #23. Orton power slams Miz and RKOs Corbin. Orton RKOs Rusev and then catches Zayn with a mid-air RKO. Orton goes after Jericho as Wyatt goes after Ambrose. Dolph Ziggler is #24. Ziggler super kicks Wyatt and Crews. Ziggler goes for a leaping DDT on Ambrose, but Ambrose counters into a near elimination. Luke Harper is #25, and now all three members of the Wyatt Family are in the match. Harper quickly eliminates Crews before staring down Orton. Wyatt tries to rally the troops, but Harper clotheslines Wyatt and big boots Orton. Harper goes for Sister Abigail on Wyatt, but Orton makes the save with an RKO. BROCK LESNAR IS #26, and business is about to pick up. Lesnar eliminates Ambrose and Ziggler before hitting Rusev with a German suplex. F-5 to Orton, and Lesnar is the only man standing in the ring. Enzo is #27, but he thinks better of charging into the ring to face Lesnar. Enzo finally picks his moment and charges at Lesnar, but Lesnar drops him with a clothesline and dumps him for the elimination. Lesnar suplexes Rusev as Jericho again rolls out of the ring to catch a breather. GOLDBERG IS #28! GOLDBERG SPEARS LESNAR! GOLDBERG ELIMINATES LESNAR!!! Goldberg clotheslines Corbin and jackhammers Zayn. Wyatt and Orton double team Goldberg, but he levels them both with a double spear. THE UNDERTAKER IS #30! Taker appears in the ring, and he stares down Goldberg. Taker goes for the choke slam, but Corbin and Rusev attack Taker and Goldberg. Goldberg eliminates Rusev as Taker eliminates Corbin.

Our next guest is Baron Corbin and usually he does rather well on the mic in this setting. Renee brings up the loss to Cena last week. He says there is no setback and compares it to the NFL where you don’t win every game. Nothing has changed for him as he can still reach his goal of becoming World Champion. He says John is bringing all he has to fight off the last moments of his career while he was just testing the waters. Fantastic stuff there! He has a plan going into the Rumble and he compares himself to Brock, Goldberg, and Undertaker. He crushes Taker as he says “the world needs ditch diggers.” I love dick heel Corbin. Shane says if the lights go out he is out of here and Corbin says he will just punch Taker in the mouth. Again, fantastic!

-Shane is a fan and loves the confidence of Baron. He says Baron has the whole package and he wishes him the best of luck. Renee talks about the words of praise from Shane and from JBL each week plus Rolling Stone calling Baron a superstar in waiting. Corbin says it doesn’t distract him and that he has a plan that includes winning the Rumble and then winning The Elimination Chamber match to become the WWE Champion. He doesn’t need people jumping on his bandwagon, and Shane doesn’t take him bad mouthing the fans well. Baron says he appreciates their money and how they fill his pockets. Tremendous! Baron takes his leave as Shane says he was hoping he would dig himself out of the hole with his shot at the fans, but went the other way.

Baron Corbin 6/1 (+600)

The odds may surprise you, but Corbin has been booked very strong ever since his better-than-expected chairs match with Kalisto at the TLC Pay-Per-View. He was given a lot of offense in the triple threat match for the WWE title on the “Wild Card Finals” episode of SmackDown and “controlled” 80 percent of his match against John Cena this past Tuesday.

Corbin is ascending into the world title picture and it’s totally logical to picture “The Lone Wolf” ending the first PPV of WrestleMania season by pointing at the giant WM sign.

With Goldberg-Lesnar, Undertaker-Strowman, and HHH-Rollins penciled in for Mania, Corbin vs. Styles, Cena or both, is a perfectly fine match (with entrances) to fill 20-25 minutes of the show. Corbin has shown enough in the ring lately for me to buy that he’s ready for a high level match.

Baron Corbin Is WWE’s Next Big Star, So You’d Better Get Used to Him
He’s tall, fast, talks a lot of trash and he held his own against John Cena: The Lone Wolf might be the real deal
Baron Corbin is on a path to becoming one of the biggest stars in the WWE. WWE

Baron Corbin took very little time becoming one of the most polarizing figures in the WWE.
The former Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman has been a pet project of the company since making his re-debut in NXT in late 2014, but with that lofty future planned out for him also came a plethora of criticism from his mic work, to how his work rate leaves much to be desired, that he has no character and so on. At the time, when he was about two years into developmental, these complaints weren’t particularly unjustified, so when he was called up to the main roster and scored a win at WrestleMania 32’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the criticism only got louder. Too many wrestlers got the big push too soon, and most of them would be happy to fight on the bottom of an indie card these days.
Yet Corbin has been proving himself night in and night out. Almost a year later, it’s getting harder to criticize the Lone Wolf of SmackDown Live; his improvement since joining the big leagues has been obvious to anybody watching, and his star is only on the rise from here.

If there was ever a bigger venue to prove himself, just look at Tuesday night’s blue show main event, which pitted Corbin against John Cena in his first match since returning from being a part-timer (a.k.a. filming a reality show). Although Corbin didn’t pick up the W, the match showed why he has been given a spotlight since the brand split to make a name for himself. He portrayed his character perfectly, right down to insulting and taunting AJ Styles, who was at ringside on commentary; Corbin doesn’t need any help, not even a fellow heel with a bone to pick against Cena. Corbin also showed that he can go toe-to-toe with a guy who has held the world championship belt almost more times than any other wrestler ever to deliver a decent main event on the weekly show, the staple of a rising star. That the match with Cena followed up the genuinely excellent triple threat he had with Styles and Dolph Ziggler last month just puts an exclamation point on his development.

Baron Corbin beats up John Cena on WWE SmackDown Live. WWE

So how did we get here? How did boring ass Baron Corbin of the 10 second squash matches in NXT (matches so boring and short that the crowd would start counting upon the ringing of the bell and not stop until the match was over) turn into one of the hottest prospects in the WWE?

You have to go back to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, where Samoa Joe guided the big rook to his first “good” match, a showing that truly signaled the arrival of the Lone Wolf. But if you’re looking for the real moment that many will look back on as the first sign that he was comfortable being inside of a ring, look at his match with the debuting Apollo Crews from NXT Takeover: London.
“Go back to Ring of Honor!”
With those six words, Corbin solidified himself as Big Banter, a heel so cocky and out of touch that he would yell that at Apollo Crews…who…never wrestled in Ring of Honor. It didn’t matter whether Corbin planned that line beforehand or whether he botched it in the ring, it was so funny and so dickish that it got over instantly with the so-called Internet Wrestling Community (IWC). It also helped throw the spotlight on Corbin’s in-ring chatter over his promo skills, which are definitely lacking. Yet while he seems to lock up when a mic is in his hands, his smooth workrate and fast wit inside the squared circle showed the potential that seems to finally be put together on SmackDown Live.
Although his aforementioned main event with Cena was solid but didn’t exactly blow any minds, it showed something perhaps more important than that: Corbin can be an organic asset for the blue brand. He doesn’t need to be a referendum on former football players turned wrestlers with every match, he can just function as a big strong guy who can anchor a match around better performers. He’ll always have three big “wow factors” in his favor (his agility moving in and out of the ring, his ability to banter while fighting and his Deep Six, which is one of the most gorgeous-looking signatures in the company), so if he can put that together with better match pacing and a few more moves, Corbin could rocket to the top sooner than later. And if his Talking Smack appearances are to be believed, there IS a good talker in there somewhere who just needs to find his promo character to flourish. Once that happens, this mammoth of a heel will be in main events for years to come, and it’ll be the End of Days for Baron Corbin’s haters.

Thirty Superstars from Raw and SmackDown LIVE will fight for sports-entertainment immortality when the annual Royal Rumble Match takes over WWE Network on Sunday, Jan. 29. The winner of the massive melee, now in its 30th year, will go on to challenge for a World Championship in the main event of WrestleMania this April.

A tradition dating back to 1988, the Royal Rumble Match starts with two participants, and new Superstars entering the ring every 90 seconds. This continues until all 30 Superstars have entered the bout. Elimination occurs when a Superstar is thrown over the top rope and both of his feet hit the floor. The last Superstar in the ring will be declared the victor.

So far, the following the Superstars have been announced for the gigantic match:

Goldberg
Brock Lesnar
Big E
Xavier Woods
Kofi Kingston
Braun Strowman
Chris Jericho
